Ponderosa References

Hi Kathleen,
I still enjoy stopping in on your website and especially looking at the updates from all the piggy owners! Hope you and all the piggies are having a great holiday season! Pork Chop is still doing absolutely wonderful. She is out with the dogs full time, all the fences have come down, in fact she started attempting to "climb" the hierarchy ladder with the dogs and most times, they are pretty tolerant, but they have put her in her place and she has backed down so far. She is still the most lovable girl, laying on my lap every morning after we all eat breakfast!
Yes, she's getting too heavy (about 70 lbs) but she thinks she's still a little piglet. She still loves giving the most gentle kisses with her nose and even her tongue and we lay on the floor and she plays with my hair. And since she feels it's too cold now (imagine if we lived in Chicago or somewhere like that!) she really only goes out to poop and pee! She still digs big holes in the grass, but then runs inside after a few minutes! We are working on inside stuff like opening her mailbox and tooting the bicycle horns, but she is really too smart for her own good! She always sits when she wants food and kneels, crawls and shakes hands with no problem. When she sees her brush, she runs to the middle of the living room and flops over! She is just too funny! I can't brag about her enough as she is still really good with strangers and hasn't shown much aggression at all! I've attached her calendar that I used for a xmas card this year as everyone is so smitten with her that I have had "long, lost cousins" come & visit after they heard I had a pig! I guess she's the most important one! Anyway, hope all is well with you and I'll update you after she's had her 1 year checkup later this month or early next month. I think she is fine, maybe still a little bit chunky, but not too fat yet! (there's 2 additional recent xmas pics attached so you can see better what she looks like now)
Take care and have a wonderful Christmas!

Hi Kathleen,
She still so wonderful, of course! Ahe is just the most lovable girl i
could have ever asked for! On weekends if i'm napping on the couch, she'll
come up and kiss me all over my face & head and then lay next to me and take
a nap, too! She has also started to run around with the dogs instead of
from them and she antangonizes Comet, the border collie into chasing her
around the property! It's just so funny! I was pretty anxious about it at
first but she is the one initiating it and they just run and bang into each
other and then keep on running... i hope this is a good sign! But they all
seem want to be together now, so hopefully soon they can all stay together
when I'm not home.) The more exposure I have to other pb pigs, the more
thankful I am that I bought mine from you!
Anyway, any ideas on her hoof?

Hi Kathleen,
I hope all is well with you! Looks like Little Mamma has been quite busy &
proliferic! I know this one daughter of hers, Pork Chop, is just one in a
million! (in my eyes at least!) Here are some updated pictures of her,
she's almost 7 months old now! She hasn't grown much taller, only about 12
inches, i think, (not sure how to measure her height) but she just weighed
in at 37 lbs yesterday. She's long like a daschsund almost! I was hoping
that you could tell me if she's looking fat at all! She looks a little
pudgy to me, but i think she's pretty svelt for such a big grass grazer!
Anyway, yes, this is another bragging mommy email! She has mastered her
obstacle course already, it has only been a month, and we have changed it
around plenty of times... she still loves doing it, we go out there every
evening when the sun settles and that's kind of her exercise before bedtime.
She can jump on the couches now, she doesn't always use her ramp since it's
at the "other" end of where she wants to go now. But she always comes back
to my lap to nap or relaxes laying on my foot, somewhere where she's
touching me or on me. The dogs are so awesome with her, we had one mishap,
and she "ha ha ha'd" one too many times in Comet's face and Comet snapped at
her, but she wasn't phased, and Comet just went back to sleep. I still keep
them separate when I'm not home but I couldn't be more pleased on how they
all get along and even play together! When she grazes, the dogs lay in the
grass with her, so I'm confident one day they will all figure their places
out and be ok together! She hasn't gotten rebellious yet (knock on wood!),
she is always so gentle taking food or in one of the pictures, she sticks
her bottom lip up before she sits, asking for food! She is just so
entertaining and lovable, i just can't give her enough kisses (and she's so
good at giving kisses back!) Anyway, take care of your new little ones and
again, thank you so much for my gem!
With so many thanks everyday for my Pork Chop!

Hi Kathleen,
I just wanted to send you some updated pictures and let you know how Pork
Chop is doing! She is now 25 lbs, growing like a weed! We just came back
from the UPPR Pignic this past weekend and she was a real star! She aced
the training class, learned everything super duper fast, got complimented by
the trainer on how well temperamented she was. She's doing so so well, it's
almost scary! She made the 8+ hour drive up to Reno awesomely well and we
only had to make 1 stop. She is so well potty trained, she even let me know
when she had to go out at the hotel! She has lots of doggy doors at home so
it's been quite a long time She now sits, shakes hands (we are working on
playing the piano now that she shakes hands), she goes round & around and
now she learned how to do obstacle course routines, so we are building her
an obstacle course in the backyard to practice. The pictures of her
sleeping in the hotel room bed since she could not get comfortable on the
floor. Bad idea, now she is trying to jump in bed with me, first bad habit.
The other pic is of her in her new stroller. We use it everywhere she goes,
it keeps people's fingers away from her sharp teeth! ha ha! But she is
still the best & I just wanted to let you know how proud I am of my baby!!!
Til the next bragging email!

Good Morning Kathleen,
I am emailing you from home as I took the day off to get my new piglet adjusted... I just wanted to let you know that Pork Chop (that's what I decided to name her since she tries to eat everything, her crate, my walls, her water crock, my fingers, toes, etc...) is doing excellently! She & Mark Pfister's Biscuit came in just fine yesterday. She is sleeping on my lap right now, is always under foot and was no problem as soon as we got home! She took instantly to my lap and food (of course), has been using the litter box, no accidents! I'm so proud of her, she also lets me pick her up without a struggle. Right now, the only problems are my dogs, that will take a little while longer. She has no fear of them it seems but they are a little rough, so we are taking this part slowly. Thank you so much for helping me get prepared for her, she is very vocal, talks a lot (piggy talk) of course, but hasn't screamed yet!
I will send pictures along the way as i can't help but want to take pictures except it's a little hard since she's always on me!
Thanks again for everything!

Hi Kathleen,
Just wanted to update you on Pork Chop's progress and send some pictures
(she's such a ham, when she hears the camera go on, she heads for the lens!)
I could not have asked for a better piggy! She is hard to not spoil! She
is out with the dogs all the time (when i'm home) and is housebroken already
from day 2. As soon as she went outside the first time, she did not want to
use her litter box anymore! She holds her pee & pooh all night and til
after breakfast, then she runs to the door and grunts! She is just too
funny, the dogs are great with her, at first they get really excited but
then they get bored with her in about 5 minutes... Pork Chop thinks that
Maggie, the smaller dog is her mommy and keeps trying to suckle on her!
Maggie is so tolerant of her, she just keeps licking her... they usually
sleep on the couch together now while i'm watching tv. Pork Chop seems to
know that when she has to put her harness on, it's time to go outside! She
went to her rooting area on Sunday & Monday and just had a blast! I mde her
an indoor rooting box with newspaper and blocks of wood, and she can play
all by herself for quite a while! She's also great with everybody who has
handled her! (I am waiting for the bomb to drop since she's been too good
to be true, but for now, I'm just enjoying her to no end!)
Thank you again sooooo much!

"Hi Kathleen,
This will be my last "bragging mommy" email for a while, but I have a
question and of course, wanted to let you know how awesome Pork Chop is
doing! Also, if anyone wants a reference they are welcome to email me or
call me, you are welcome to give out my name! Anyway, I am attaching her
latest pictures at 3 months old now, i am just weaning her onto maintenance
pellets now.
She is getting along fabulously with the dogs! She has had
the full run of the house for about a week now and uses the doggy doors (all
3 of them) by herself, goes in & out by herself, goes potty by herself,
roams around by herself. She loves going out with the dogs but doesn't need
them anymore like she used to and now she has a her own bed right next to
mine that she puts herself down for the night in. She had her 3 month vet
visit but passed with flying colors, she is now 16 pounds and I swear has
grown about a whole third more in length (& maybe a little in width!) She
also took her booster vaccination without even flinching! Needless to say
though, she can no longer lay on my lap like she used to, her butt has to
sit on the couch now with just her head on my lap! She uses the ramp to get
up & down on the couch and I just put it up to the van and she walked up, no
problem! I have taken down the "nursery area" already and she has her
favorite areas where she settles now, which is mostly anywhere! She lays at
my feet no matter where I am or what I'm doing (bathroom, kitchen, & even
showering, she lays outside the tub). She sits before I ask her to now if
she sees me bringing her food. I just can't say enough about my little
genius piglet!
I am sure the bad habits & testing is yet to come, but for
now I can't imagine my life without her! She is learning to pickup items &
bring them to me now. She has also learned how to bow and hasn't gotten it
on command yet. And after she bows, she lays down! She goes into the pond
outside (just her front feet right now) so I tried the bath thing, we did
not do very well with that! We'll keep working on that, but thanks again for
such a wonderful new member of my family! She will always get the best
care, I promise you!
