Hi Kathleen

How are you? Sorry its taken me so long to return the crate - life has been pretty hectic lately! Lulu is doing really well in her new home - she could not be more loved!! She's got a great disposition - so easy to work with and train: fully housebroken, walks on harness and leash, sits on command, comes when called - and I could go on, if I had more room to write.

Thanks again!

lulu.gif - 49746 BytesHi Kathleen,

I am sending you a picture of Lulu from this past August. She's fat and sassy (but not too fat!) and enjoying her life in Baltimore. She is slowly adjusting to the new puppy and hasn't urinated on the rugs in the house for a couple of weeks:) I have some more pictures that I will send soon: Lulu wearing a Santa hat for Christmas and a birthday hat for her first birthday. I had a birthday party for her with a birthday salad (and cake for the human party-goers) and party hats. Unfortunately she ended up peeing on the rugs that night so things didn't go quite like I had planned. Thankfully I bought a steam cleaner last December so its been no problem cleaning up the mess. But like I said, she is doing much better after quickly associating her naughty behavior with receiving time-outs in the back room away from all the fun and action in the living room.

Even with all the mess she's caused lately I still love her like crazy. She's such a little snuggle-bug: she loves to jump up on the sofa with me and snuggle up close to me. If I get too cozy with her I'll break out in a rash on my skin where ever I come into contact with her (I still can't believe that I'm allergic to her!). But I can't help it-- she's such a little cutie!! I have some topical steroid ointment that gets rid of the rash so I usually don't hold back with the snuggling.

I hope that all is well with you and your family. I check out your webpage regularly just to see the new babies. I'd like to get another piglet when I have more room and more land.

Take care,

Debbie Prouty

lulubirthdayhat.gif - 23567 BytesHi Kathleen,

Here are some more pictures of Lulu. She doing great and getting along a lot better with the boxer puppy and you can see from the pictures of her sleeping with him. The winter here was rough on her-- lots and lots of snow. Even with her blanket on she wanted no part of staying outside for very long. Thankfully, the weather has become more spring-like and she's spending more time outside. Now we're just waiting for those hot summer days so we can play in the kiddy pool!

Hi Kathleen,

The move went very well-- both pigs handled the traveling better than expected. Of course, Oscar was already a seasoned traveler:) Lulu was a little annoyed about being in a crated for so long but after we arrived in Savannah and she was able to graze in her new yard her mood quickly got happy again. She and Oscar are quickly becoming good buddies. I think it helped to be on neutral territory for her to not be so aggressive towards him. And my boxer, Iggy, loves Oscar. They run around the yard together-- I have never seen anything so funny as an almost full-grown boxer being chased by a little tiny piglet! Oscar has the best personality-- he's such a little ham!

Thanks,

Debbie Prouty

Hi Kathleen,

oscar2004.JPG - 36773 BytesHow are you? I hope that you and your family are doing well. I just wanted to send you an update on Lulu and Oscar. They are both doing very well in their new home in Savannah; they have become the best of friends. Even though Lulu still detests Iggy, Oscar has developed quite an affection for him as demonstrated in the pictures. Oscar can't run quite as quickly as Iggy but he still manages to keep up with an almost full-grown boxer when they play in the yard together.

oscardog2004.JPG - 30924 BytesLulu has better things to do with her time than to fraternize with silly dogs. I have baby gates throughout the house to keep the pigs and dogs out of rooms in which they don't belong. However, Lulu has now figured out how to open these gates-- sometimes pigs are a little too smart for their own good (or at least too smart for their human family).

Take care,
Debbie Prouty
