Hi Kathleen,

Well, a month has gone by since R & H have become part of the household. We sure do get alot of enjoyment from having them around. They are very affectionate and intelligent.

Ralph is a very affectionate and open minded pig. He easily adapts to whatever new experiences we expose him to. He loves going on leash walks and cavorts around the yard with Maxie, the dog. He looks forward to snuggling with Tam at night as they watch tv on the couch. (I warned her it will redefine snuggling when he is full grown!)

Henrietta is our independant, fussy pig. She does not like to be controlled and raises the roof whenever you: pick her up, put her harness on; lead her during walks, etc.. We patiently wait her out and complete the task so she never forgets who the top pigs really are!! (We read Nancy's articles and took them to heart.) For all that we love her feisty spirit!

The first time we took the pigs out for a walk (after three weeks, had to wait for larger harnesses, we really misjudged their size when we ordered before they arrived) they both immediatly took care of their potty needs and has been like that ever since. They only use their litter box when we are at work.

Take care and we will keep you informed on R & H 's progress.

You can certainly use any part of the letter on the reference page, add our email address so we can field any inquiries that may come up. We take the pigs out every day now, they love wandering around the yard exploring and looking for green's to graze on. Thanks again for these wonderful additions to the family, they bring joy everyday.

Regards,

Phil & Tammy Fischer

Kathleen, Sorry Phil and I haven't written in so long. Since we last communicated we've bought a house into Charles Town, WV. Both Ralph and Henrietta are doing just fine. They have a fenced in yard with about 1 and 1/3 acres to roam around. I see you are still using Ralph's picture on your website...he's still just as cute and affectionate as he was when he was a babe.

Susan told us that they were some of the best behaved pigs she's had in a long time. This made Phil and I very happy. We boarded them there from August until the first week in December while we were house hunting and moving. When we picked them up they both recognized my voice immediately. They came running faster then I've ever seen them. I think they missed us as much as we missed them. They loved their new home from the start. I though it may be a lot for them to adjust but not really. They both settled in to a routine fairly quickly.

They have both just blown their coats, and I've just finished cleaning up all of their hair. :-) They look so cute....like they just received crew cuts...little bits of hair sticking up about 1/4 inch. It's been so hot and sticky this summer I'm sure they feel cooler also. Henrietta is still "miss fancy pig" very independent and a little bit destructive. She's pulled up the wall paper in our downstairs bathroom and put several holes in our carpet in our family room. Berber carpet is not the kind to have with pigs. No worries though, I was going to redecorate anyway. :-) She has figured out how to open and get into every cabinet in the kitchen. We've had to get very creative with child locks and getting all food stuff out of the lower ponhenrietta.gif - 28307 Bytescabinets. I don't lock up the pots and pans and every day when we come home from work she's pulled out all of them and distributed them around the kitchen. I think she wants to be a cook. :-) She has toys but likes the pots and pans better. :-)

I will email some newer pictures of them tomorrow. They have grown so much.
