We made this to look like "Piglet", but it could be adapted for any number of cartoon pigs.
This project is rated AVERAGE to do.
What You Need
- Pink sleeper or sweat suit
- Pink stocking cap
- Darker Pink felt
- Sewing machine (or needle) and pink thread
- Black fabric or permanent marker
- Scissors
- Bucket or pail (to use to collect treats)
- Pink paint
- Paintbrush
How To Make It
- Cut 4 triangles out of the pink felt to a size appropriate for ears.
- Sew 2 triangles together leaving the bottom open. Turn each triangle
right side out.
- Repeat with other 2 triangles. These form the ears.
- Pinch each ear in the top of the pink stocking cap and sew on from the
inside of the hat.
- Use the black fabric marker and draw stripes around the middle of the
pink sleeper or sweat suit.
- Paint the bucket pink and let dry.
- Write "Piglet" or the name of your pig on the bucket.
#2 Pig
oversized pink hooded sweatsuit
cotton batting or receiving blankets
pink felt
hot glue
long pink chenille stick
2 pairs of pink or white socks
plastic pig nose (optional)
For the ears, cut two triangles from felt. Either hand sew or hot glue onto the hood. Keep in mind that hand sewing will make the ears easily removable so you can reuse the sweatsuit after Halloween! Twist chenille stick into a corkscrew tail and attach with a safety pin. After child is dressed, stuff sweatsuit with cotton batting or receiving blankets (anything soft that will not irritate skin). Have child wear one pair of socks on her hands and one pair on her feet.

Pig Mask Design
A Pig Tail
You will need a narrow tube of fabric. The length of the tube will depend upon the size of the person who will be wearing the tail. To make a tube, cut a strip of fabric approximately 1" wide, fold the strip with the wrong sides of the fabric together.Using 1/4" seams, sew one end and along the length of the strip. Turn right side out.(A little tip: If your fabric tends to fray, resew the seams a few times and use small stitches.)
Join pipe cleaners to make them the length of your fabric tube, by over lapping them and twisting them together. Turn the ends over and clamp them tightly to them self to prevent the wire ends from poking anyone.
Insert the pipe cleaners in to the tube. Wrap the tube around a pencil or dowel, to create a spring.
Turn in the unfinished edge of the fabric and attach to your costume.
